Today is Palm Sunday. I just felt to write something inspiring to
start the Holy Week.
It was one fine afternoon. I went
out to dine with a friend. We are very
excited to try all the dishes! Hahaha! Looking at the menu, they’re so yummy!
We ordered one main course, noodles, a cup of rice and a drink. We
intentionally ordered this way because they have huge servings and would be too
much for two people. After a couple of
minutes, taddaaa! Our meals came. As
they lay all the plates full of delicious courses, we were surprised because
they were too plentiful! They were a way too many compared to what we’ve
ordered! There is an appetizer plus two cups of rice! Oh my…! We panicked. We asked our server if he got
the wrong table because we didn’t order these dishes, but he said he had the
orders right. We insisted that we really
did not order crab for appetizer and two cups of rice and that they’ve
misunderstood our orders. We only asked for a cup of rice and no appetizer. Someone came to us confirming that we really
didn’t order them and he’s giving them away for us free of charge. Ooohhhlalala!!
That man is a total stranger to us. We really
didn’t know him and so we are afraid to accept the excess of what we’ve asked
for. We left the resto with very satisfied stomach and big smiles on our
faces. We are really blessed!
This incident reminded me of the
Giver. You see, if we didn’t know who
the Giver is, we panicked and refused to
accept blessings that are in front of us
already. Most of the time, we are
expecting exactly what we only asked and yet He’s giving us more than that. We should not forget that it is not
impossible for our Giver to exceed our greatest desires, hopes and
expectations. (Eph 3:20 “God is able to
do far more than we could ever ask for or imagine. He does everything by his
power that is working in us.”)
