a child's heart

I sooo miss my handsome nephews and beautiful nieces.  They have been such a joy to the  whole family even before they were born.  How years gone by and I missed cuddling all of them, reality is, no one can stop them from growing up.  As they grow up, the character they’re building up are just awesome for kids like them! I’m very positive that they’d be amazing and successful people in the future.

Gavin, 14, our very first nephew
Being our teenage baby, we all call him Kuya Gavin. I remember asking him about what birthday present he’d like to have, and he said:  ikaw na lang bahala, Tita, wala po akong maisip eh.  Funny as it may sound but I can sense the maturity in it.  Other kids would say I want that, I want this, I like to have this and that…

Jose Gabriel, 7, our second baby boy
He is the loudest but shy-type child I’ve known. Haha! Before leaving the Philippines to study and live with my brother in Australia, we were inside the car with Grace, my niece, they grew up together and became very close, too since they are of the same age, I heard him say:  Grace, mag-picture tayo sa iPad ng marami para may remembrance tayo.  I was like huh? What? I was moved and felt as if he’s not a young man anymore.  Listening to those words coming from a seven-year old boy is not an ordinary thing.  He knew about good memories and valuing special people.

Mary Grace, 7, the very first baby princess of both her parents’ families
Yes, she is really a princess, a very beautiful and intelligent one.  She was named Mary Grace because she became the grace to all of us, being the first granddaughter of the Zaraspes and Constantes.  A good memory of her would be when we went shopping for her P.E. rubber shoes, here it goes:  I asked her to look around and find the shoes she’d love to wear, a couple of minutes passed and she didn’t find anything.  I asked why and she said:  kahit ano po, Tita.  I was speechless and became quiet for a moment then I roamed the shops and found two pairs that fit her size and taste.  She picked one between them,  we bought it, and she was happy.  I told myself, this kid reminded me of so many admirable things we should have in this world, I love the humility and gratefulness in her heart, and that simplicity of hers.

Lastly,

Mary Gwyneth, 1, our pretty baby princess
Gwen is the smartest and adorable baby, the latest addition to our family.  She’s really witty and now growing to be a superstar.  Hahaha!  We call her the best actress.  She can dance, sing, cry, laugh, all sorts of entertainment!  Her presence brings happiness to everyone.  A fond memory of her is when she’s not in the mood or has sumpong, just ask her the question Sinong maganda?, and she’ll respond to you, Ako! while pointing to herself. Hahaah! Hilarious!  She showed me that amidst difficulties and bad days, stand up and tell yourself, You are beautiful! She’s just a one-year old baby and yet she knows how to appreciate oneself. I miss you baby Gwen!
